How can I withdraw a bid on GED Brokerage?

Hey everyone, hope you're all having a great boating season! I'm reaching out for some friendly advice about retracting a bid on the GED Brokerage website (https://gedbrokerage.com). I've placed bids on several boats, but I only intend to purchase one. Unfortunately, it looks like I might end up winning multiple auctions.

I've looked for a way to cancel a bid in the bids section of my account, but I can't seem to find that option. Has anyone else dealt with this before? I'd really appreciate any guidance on how to cancel a bid without causing any issues.

Thanks so much for your help!

Best, Phil

Hey Phil! Welcome to the club. I've been in your exact situation before. If you need to cancel a bid, you can easily do this by contacting GED Brokerage directly via phone or email. The process is pretty straightforward.

Just start by providing the links to the bids you wish to cancel or by specifying the year, make, model, and other details of the boats. I encountered a similar situation last year and reached out to them via email; they were super helpful and quickly canceled my bid.

You should receive an email confirmation for the cancellation, and the items will be removed from the "my account" bids section. Hope this helps you out!

Thank you so much for your quick reply, TheDeeGee! I followed your advice and reached out to them by phone this morning. They were incredibly helpful and successfully canceled my bid. I really appreciate your assistance! You saved me from a potentially expensive situation 😅

This community is amazing - so glad I found you all!

Hey Phil! I faced the exact same problem last season and ended up winning two auctions. They really should consider adding a "delete my bid" option - it would make things so much easier for everyone.

That said, I'm not complaining too much—I've paid for both center consoles and even sold one for a nice profit, so it worked out in the end. But having that option would definitely be a valuable addition for them. Glad to hear you got it sorted out!

Hey Phil, welcome to the forum! Just wanted to offer some friendly advice - if you plan to buy just one boat, it might be wise to steer clear of bidding on several at once. I've seen this happen to a few folks, and it can get complicated.

That said, we've all been new to this at some point, and I'm glad you reached out for help. The community here is really supportive, so don't hesitate to ask any other questions as you navigate the boat buying process!

Haha, don't worry Phil - valhalla360 means well but can come across a bit stern sometimes. We've all made similar mistakes when we were starting out!

I actually did the exact same thing with my first boat purchase on GED Brokerage. Ended up with two bids that were getting close to closing, and I panicked! Called them up and they were super understanding. It's a common issue they deal with.

Welcome to the club, Phil! Great to have another center console enthusiast join us. I've been using GED Brokerage for years, and their customer service has always been top-notch when I've needed help.

Pro tip: Once you get your boat, be sure to check out the "Maintenance Tips" section of this forum. Lots of great advice there to keep your new baby in shipshape!

What kind of fishing are you planning to do with your new boat?

Hey Phil! Just wanted to chime in and say welcome! I'm relatively new to the club too (joined last season), and everyone has been so incredibly helpful.

I actually had a similar issue with GED Brokerage when I was buying my first boat. I called them and they were super understanding - they even walked me through the entire process of placing a proper single bid for the boat I really wanted.

Don't be a stranger around here - we'd love to see photos once you get your boat!

+1 to what SeaDog42 said! The maintenance section here saved me thousands in repair costs last year alone.

Phil, if you don't mind me asking, what model are you looking at? I went through the boat buying process last year and learned a ton about what to look for in a used center console.

Also, if you're in the Florida area, we've got a great group of members who do monthly meetups at different marinas. You should join us once you get your boat!

Wow, I'm absolutely blown away by all the warm welcomes and helpful advice! Thank you so much, everyone!

To answer a few questions:

SeaDog42 - We're mostly planning offshore fishing for mahi and tuna, with some family cruising mixed in. My wife and I have two teenagers who are excited to learn to fish.

TightLinesTom - I'm looking at a 2019 Boston Whaler 270 Outrage with twin 200s. It seems like the perfect balance of fishing capability and family comfort. And I would LOVE to join a meetup! We're in the Sarasota area.

This community is exactly what I was hoping to find when I got into boating. Can't wait to contribute once I have more experience under my belt!

Excellent choice, Phil! The 270 Outrage is a fantastic boat - perfect for the fishing you described. The Whaler unsinkable construction gives great peace of mind when you're offshore with the family.

If you end up with that model, I highly recommend adding a t-top if it doesn't have one already. The Florida sun is no joke, and your family will thank you for the shade!

Also, since you're in Sarasota, we should connect. I fish that area frequently and know some great spots for mahi once you get offshore.

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to jump in and say how great it is to see such a helpful and welcoming discussion. This is exactly what The Center Console Club is all about!

Phil, I'm glad you got your bidding issue sorted out with GED Brokerage. They're generally very responsive to these kinds of requests.

Since this thread has evolved into a wider welcome discussion, I'm going to leave it open, but I'd also encourage you to start a new thread in the "New Members" section to properly introduce yourself and your future boat!

Happy boating, everyone! âš“
